Project 677 was created when Phil Jarvis and I decided to save Sea King HAS Mk.6 XV677 from the scrapman. Irrespective of the condition she was in, we decided to take on the task to restore her to a static example.
Almost two years have passed from the moment we found out about the proposed disposal to when 677 finally arrived at her new home, AeroVenture, Doncaster and I'm certain that was to be the easy part compared to the one of locating and obtaining the vast amount of parts we require to make her look complete again.
We hope to keep you informed as much as we can on 677's progress but were under no illusions as to how slow this could be because of the problem of obtaining the required parts, just keep checking.
If you think you can help the project in any way, please contact me (details on the contact page) or call in to AeroVenture and have a chat to Phil or myself.
At the time of writing (25/07/2006), 677 is the only Sea King in a UK museum.
