21st September 2008 - Cabin door now back in place

27th September 2008 - Now that the weathers changed for the worse, time to start on those many small jobs.

27th November 2008 - You will have noticed the lack of updates recently. This is down to 2 reasons, firstly the lack of required parts for the project to progress and secondly, the good old British weather. With 677 outside progress is dictated by our wonderful climate.

4th January 2009 - The rear undercarriage unit is now built up and fitted, 677 is now on all of her own   three feet again.

8th February 2009 - The first of the three tailcone driveshaft covers is fitted, not quite as interchangable as they should be with it requiring an awful lot of modifying to fit.

4th March 2009 - The last two tailcone driveshaft covers are fitted. So much for interchangability, all have required major modification work to make them fit but at least there on. Just some paint needed now.

26th March 2009 - With 90% of the external components fitted work has now started on the internal phase and some minor repair work in the cockpit area.

12th June 2009 - Not much has happened over the last few months, several areas of minor damage have been repaired & news that a MRH may have been located for us is really all I can report. The weather hasn't helped us and the availability of certain required parts has also slowed the progress down somewhat. Hopefully as the weather settles down we'll be able to start on some of the external paintwork.

18th August 2009 - Still not much to tell. The MRH is still just out of reach untill were contacted. The weathers been a pain, no two days the same so the external painting can't be planned. Looks like it's time to start on the inside instead, at least it's a little drier.

1st October 2009 - Well we've started work on "The Office" making a few repairs to damaged areas. We've fitted the yaw control pedals & boots, had a quick tidy up of the wiring, painted the floors & fitted the seat rails. Next the roof console, seats & instrument panel.

15th November 2009 - With the roof console in and the instrument panel fitted we've reached a milestone in the restoration of 677, we now have power to some of the electrical systems, namely the internal lights.

1st February 2010 - Well, good news at last. The MRH has now been acquired and we go to collect it on March 1st. The office is now looking more complete with both cyclics in place & P2 collective fitted. On the electrical front, the nav lights now work and the wiring is slowly being checked/replaced to get the rotating beacons working.

2nd March 2010 - We've got the head, just a little damage to sort out before it's fitted and tested.

20th March 2010 - With the throttles/speed selectors rebuilt and fitted, the cockpit really is taking shape.

11th April 2010 - The main rotor head is now fitted to the Main gearbox and work starts on the repairs to the minor damage.

25th May 2010 - With the repairs to the MRH finished we are just waiting for the unit to be pressure tested before we lift the complete unit into place. Work has started kitting out the 'Dog kennel', the fire bottles are back in along with the oil cooler radiator & the hydraulic reservoirs. On the electrical front, the forward rotating beacon is now working aswel as the patio (hoist) light and the CWP also works on the 'push to test' button. As for the airframe, well this has had several minor jobs completed from fitting the sonobouy racking to replacing the odd rivet or two.
